Jo Dee Messina

Jo Dee�s been busy. She�s currently working on her sixth album, Unmistakable, which will be released late spring/early summer of 2009. The first single from that album will hit the airwaves in March and she starts touring in April. Oh, and amid all that hoopla she and her husband are expecting their first child, a son, in February.

Her FIRST single?

I hope whoever wrote this has just gotten the information wrong.  I've read many articles written by people who didn't do their homework. 

Now, I am 100% positive that "Biker Chick" will not be included on the album (thank goodness for i-tunes).  There was too much "red-tape" and so many issues involved with it (I have my speculations as to the reasons).  This is why it was pulled from the airwaves after only a few weeks (9 weeks, I think).  The way Curb looks at it now, "Biker Chick" was never a single.

But, "I'm Done" is another story.  I suspect Curb did next to nothing to back this single money-wise at the radio stations.  They did put out adds but I think that may have been the extent of their backing.  Jo Dee was out there all alone plugging at tons of radio stations to try and get airplay.  And that song hung onto the Billboard chart for dear life.  It was a long process but it still hung in there.  And I think it did pretty darn good considering everything it was up against.   Imagine what would have happened if Curb had backed it more.  Unfortunately is disappeared when it became a re-current (20 weeks on the charts). I thought it would get played more after that but, surprise!  Poof!  Gone!  

So, I do hope this person, like many others, just has the wrong information.  Because "I'm Done" SHOULD be on that album.  Jo Dee wrote it.  It's a great song.  And it charted pretty well without the monetary backing of the label.  But, should it also be excluded from the album, once again I say.....thank goodness for i-tunes.
